US CENTCOM chief arrives in Israel for second visit
Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), arrived in Israel on Sunday for his second official visit since taking up the appointment in April. His arrival followed the presentation of Israel’s multi-tier air defense systems to visiting President Joe Biden last Wednesday. Defense Minister Benny Gantz said discussions with the visiting US general focused on “developing regional challenges, including Iran’s destabilizing activities via proxies and in the maritime arena.” He added, “We also covered opportunities to deepen military ties and to facilitate cooperation with regional partners.”
Israel Defense Forces chief Lt. Gen. Aviv Kohavi travels to Morocco on Monday for the first official visit ever paid by an Israeli military chief to the north African nation.
