Two dead in 2nd terrorist attack in China within a week
In a terrorist attack in China's Xinjiang province on Wednesday, three people crashed a vehicle into the yard of a local government building, threw explosive devices and stabbed several people before being shot dead, reports said. Two people were killed and three others were wounded. The attack is being attributed to armed Islamists from the country's Uighur minority. The autonomous northwestern province with a population of 21.6 million accounts for a sixth of China's territory. A week earlier, on December 21, four people were killed and dozens were wounded when a truck ploughed into crowds at a farmer's market in the capital Beijing. The driver was arrested and taken into custody.
