The Texas serial bomber suspect is dead

The man suspected of planting six bombs this month at Texas locations – five of which exploded – is reported to be dead, apparently from a shooting. He was held responsible for a bombing campaign which caused five explosions since March 2, killing two people and injuring four. It started with a series of packages placed at people’s doorsteps in eastern Austin and escalated to a tripwire-enabled device in a residential street, then an explosive device shipped through FEDEX. The bomber was killed during a police chase. He detonated a bomb in his car as police approached to take him in custody. One of the policemen then shot him dead.
