Security cabinet meets Saturday night on E. Jerusalem terror outbreak
PM Binyamin Netanyahu told the distraught citizens of Neve Yacov Friday night, after a Palestinian gunmen murdered seven people at their synagogue, that Israel’s response would be “immediate” and warned them not to take the law into their own hands. He called an urgent foreign affairs and security panel meeting for Saturday night. This was before a second shooting at Ir David injured two Israeli men and put all security forces on emergency footing lest a wave of Palestinian terror is at hand.
The US State Department Friday condemned the “apparent terrorist attack” in Neve Yaacov in the strongest terms as “absolutely horrific.”
