Lieberman: We can’t let Iran establish a military presence in Syria
Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said Tuesday: ”I don’t know who attacked in Syria, but I do know one thing for sure. We shall not let Iran establish itself in Syria, whatever the cost. We can’t let this happen.” Lieberman, speaking during a visit to the Golan town of Katzrin, made Israel’s first reference to the attack on the Syrian T-4 air base which targeted Iran’s military compound. The defense cabinet meets Wednesday to review the security situation on the northern and Gaza borders.
