ISIS claims responsibility for London attack, more police raids

ISIS Amaq news agency reported Sunday night: “A detachment of Islamic State fighters executed yesterday’s London attack.” There is no other verification of the claim. Early Monday, London police began searches in Newham, east London, for accomplices of the three terrorists who were shot dead Saturday night after killing 7 people and injuring 48 on London Bridge and Borough Market. Newham has the second highest percentage of Muslims in Britain. Sunday, 12 people were arrested in another part of east London, seven of them women, on suspicion of offences under the Terrorism Act. One man was released without charge..Twenty-one of the victims are still in critical condition.
