Iran’s foreign minister in talks with Hizballah chief and Syrian ruler in Damascus
Hossein Amir Abdallahiyan, Iran’s foreign minister, arrived in Damascus on Friday for talks with Hizballah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Syria’s Bashar Assad. In a TV interview, the Iranian foreign minister said with regard to the three-way meeting between Israeli, Egyptian and UAE leaders at Sharm El-Sheikh: “Any meeting with an Israeli leader is a betrayal of Jerusalem and Palestine.” As to the nuclear deal under discussion in Vienna, the minister said: Moscow has updated Tehran that Russia would sign onto a new deal when it was negotiated.
