Helicopters evacuate casualties from a Turkish military convoy explosion
The convoy was hit by several bombs in the Hakkari’s Semdinli district near the Turkish-Syrian-Iraqi border junction Wednesday in an attack attributed to Kurdish PKK rebels. Ankara holds Bashar Assad responsible for allowing PKK fighters to set up bases on their frontier. An Iranian lawmaker said the PKK caused the Gaziantep explosion Aug. 20 which killed nine people and injured 68. “Turkey’s support for the Syrian opposition might have come back to bite it,” he said.”
