Hamas terror chief leads Palestinian talks in Cairo
In the face of Israel’s ban on Hamas leaders from Judea and Samaria (the West Bank) taking part in the Palestinian reconciliation talks in Cairo, the Islamist group’s terror chief Saleh Al-Arouri arrived in the Egyptian capital Tuesday to lead his delegation. The current round is to focus on the future of the West Bank. Arouri, who comes from the West Bank, where he commanded several Palestinian terrorist murders and kidnappings, has based himself in Beirut away from Israel’s security arm. Last week, Arouri was promoted to deputy head of the Hamas political bureau. Egypt, by allowing a West Bank Palestinian to take a seat at the Cairo session, connived with him to circumvent Israel’s directive.
