EU bid to condemn Israel’s annexation plans vetoed

European Union Foreign Policy chief Josep Borrell tried – and failed – to pass a resolution condemning Israel for planning to annex territory on the West Bank. It was vetoed by the Czech Republic and Hungary and therefore fell short of the required full consensus of all 27 EU members.
