Dep Shin Bet chief Ronny Alsheikh named police commissioner

The name of the designated police commissioner was released Sunday. Ronny Alsheikh, 52, served as deputy director of the Shin Bet domestic security agency from 2014, after holding senior positions in the agency which he joined in 1987. The nomination is subject to approval by the cabinet and the Turkel committee which vets senior civil service appointments.
