Car bomb attack on Istanbul police leaves 11 dead, 36 wounded
At least 11 people, including seven policemen, were killed and 36 others were wounded in a car bomb attack targeting a police vehicle in Istanbul's Beyazit neighborhood early Monday. The attack on the bus transporting policemen to work took place at Vezneciler metro station as the vehicle was passing. The blast flipped the bus over.
Gunshots were heard after the explosion. There was no immediate claim of responsibility. ISIS and the Turkish PKK have both carried out a series of attacks in Turkey in recent months.
