Bank of Israel raises interest rate by 0.75pc to 2.0pc

In an effort to restrain soaring prices, bank interest was raised for the fourth time in 2022 to 2.0pc after inflation hit 5.2pc over the past month. At the same time, the bank marked the strength of Israel’s economy, with low unemployment and GDP growth by 6.8% in the second quarter of 2022.
