At least 14 pro-Iranian fighters killed in air strike at Deir Ez-Zour
Syrian opposition sources report that air strikes Saturday night, likely by Israel, left 14 pro-Iranian militia fighters dead. The report describes more than 10 strikes outside the east Syrian border town of Abu Kamal in the province of Deir Ez-Zour, in which eight Iraqi and six Afghans, members of pro-Iranian militias, were killed. Also destroyed were two bases and several military vehicles,
The attack targeted the gateway route between Iraq and Syria through which Iran pumps fighters and arms. Israeli spokesman declined to comment on the report.
