They did not appreciate at first that Iranian intelligence Internet experts were manipulating their electronic communications to shoot them down.
The United States has been alerted to seek new cyber defense systems to fight massive Internet invasions like the one Iran mounted to suppress its protest movement.

Ahmadinejad in fresh attack on Obama shuts door on multilateral nuclear diplomacy

The Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad struck back Saturday, June 27, barely 24 hours after US president Barack Obama poured scorn on him and warned that "direct dialogue or diplomacy with Iran" would be "affected by the events of the last several weeks."
This time, the Iranian president included Europe in his verbal offensive against the US president over so-called interference in Tehran's internal affairs and threatened "decisive and harsh" punishment.

Small protest turnout outside Iran's parliament is violently dispersed<br/>

Seeking to revive his flagging protest movement, opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi scheduled a demonstration for Wednesday afternoon, June 24, outside the Iranian parliament building on Baharestan Square. According to eye witnesses, several hundred demonstrators turned up and were brutally dispersed by Iranian security forces and arrests made Some said they opened fire on the crowd and one young woman was injured.

British embassy staff families begin leaving Tehran as Iran weighs reassessment of ties

Iran's protesters finally rebuffed in call for election annulment

Iran's top legislative body, the Guardians Council, has thrown out the opposition movement's demand for a new election to correct the allegedly forged results in the poll that re-elected president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on June 12. The decision followed the breakup Monday June 22 of a small demonstration in Tehran's Haf-e Tir Square of up to 1,000 protesters by riot police using tear gas. They were backed baton-wielding Basijj militiamen who mingled with the crowd in civilian clothes.

Iran's opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi told his supporters not to assemble in Tehran's main square Tuesday afternoon, June 16, as scheduled, shortly after a rally in support of the president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
The authorities rounded up a group called by state TV "ringleaders of the current unrest in possession of explosives and guns." He took this as a message that the ayatollahs' regime had prepared a crackdown against his movement and decided to prevent a bloodbath.

Tehran: Ahmadinejad wins second presidential term up to 2013

IAEA: Accelerated Iranian, Syrian enrichment out of control

According to the calculations of the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency in its new report, Iran will be able to produce one nuclear bomb by the end of this year, doubling that figure in 2010. They do not factor in the product of Iran's clandestine enrichment plants.
The IAEA admits its investigations are stalled both in Iran and Syria, where its inspectors have discovered of new traces of man-made uranium near Damascus.
