DEBKAfile Exclusive Report November 26, 2015
Unless the Israeli government heads switch their anti-terror tactics from reactive to proactive, the country can expected the current wave of terror to blow up into a major assault in an Israeli city with many casualties. That is the view taking root in senior ranks of the IDF.
DEBKAfile Special Report November 19, 2015
All five murders perpetrated by Palestinian terrorists in Tel Aviv and on the Hebron highway on Thursday, Nov. 19, led back to the Hebron district of the southern West Bank. The current wave of terror is earning the title of “The Hebron Intifada.” While anti-Jewish violence has been endemic to the region since 1929, the current wave was sparked by internal Palestinian strife. It is being exploited by Hebron’s clan chiefs to further their aspirations to seize the Palestinian leadership from Ramallah.
DEBKAfile Special Report November 13, 2015

They were attacked on Highway 60 on the road running between Othniel and the Palestinian village of Dura in the Mt. Hebron district. DEBKAfile Special Report April 2, 2015
Whatever the circumstances that led a young Israeli man of 21 from Beersheba to disappear in the Palestinian village of Beit Anoun in the Hebron hills Thursday afternoon, April 2, the authorities are treating the incident as a possible terrorist kidnapping and pulling out all the stops to find him. Those circumstances are beginning to look suspicious. But fresh in their memories is the kidnap and murder by Hamas terrorists of three Israeli teenagers in the same area last summer, an outrage which led to an Israeli operation against Hamas in Gaza.

Netanyahu is relying on only two advisors to wage the war on Hamas in Gaza, and his over-reliance on air strikes and hopes for a quick ceasefire have proved this to be unwise.

DEBKAfile Exclusive Report June 19, 2014
Israel's major intelligence agencies have diverted their most sophisticated financial and technological resources to the top-priority task of sweeping the media for a trace of the three kidnapped Israeli teenagers, now missing for six days. Their failure to pick up any signs of life by Thursday, June 19, points away from the direct involvement of a major terrorist organization, and tends more toward an ad-hoc cell with as few as three or four members. Unlike a large organization, a small cell could operate for long periods off the communication grid.
DEBKAfile Special Report June 18, 2014
The entire Israeli operation is designed to show Hamas in strong language that the old game is over. Kidnapping Israelis will never again yield the release of Palestinian terrorists, only intensify Israel’s determination to crush Hamas’ political, terror, military and financial infrastructures. This piecemeal destruction in Judea and Samaria will, if it fails to produce results, be repeated on Hamas’ home ground in Gaza. But the operation has so far failed in its first object of rescuing the three Israeli teenagers and catching their abductors - and Hamas is preparing to push back.

DEBKAfile Exclusive Analysis June 16, 2014
An approaching IDF military operation against Hamas appeared to be building up this week in the wake of the massive IDF effort to rescue the three Israeli boys Hamas kidnapped outside Hebron on June 10. debkafile: It already has a name: “Our Brothers Come Home.” Egypt has reinforced its borders with Israel and Gaza, offering the chance of President Abdule-Fattah El-Sisi’s backing. Israel’s strategic decisions are influenced by the thousands of Iranian Shiite troops battling Sunni Islamists in Iraq. Tehran's success would consolidate Hamas and Jihad Islami domination of Ramallah.

As the massive IDF-Shin Bet hunt for the three teenage boys feared kidnapped Thursday night, June 12, went into its second day, the shape of a large terrorist organization and a carefully planned, step-by-step abduction emerged, under a central command, most likely set up by Hamas. Its communications with the kidnappers were cut off so as not to betray its own location or the hideout of the captors and boys - two 16-year olds from Yeshivot Etzion and a third boy. Officers who thwarted a spate of recent abduction attempts are actively leading the search.
